Barong & Kris Dance
The lion is the popular one, as it comes from the Gianyar region, where Ubud (the home of tourist's Balinese dance ritual viewing) is located. Within the calon arang, the dance drama in which the Barong appears, the barong responds to Rangda's use of magic to control and kill her to restore balance. In traditional Barong dance performances, he is portrayed in his struggles against Rangda, it is the popular part of Balinese culture. The mythical creature would dance along the street to the calon arang dance. A priest would throw holy water at it.

The Barong play represent on eternal fight between good and evil spirit. Barong (a mythological animal) represent a good spirit and Rangda ( a mythological Monster) represent an evil one.
The Dance Start With Music Over Tone
Followed by his friend the monkey, the tiger comes up. Three masked, dancers appear, representing man making a palm wine in the forest, whose child is killed by the tiger. The three man get angry and attack the tiger which is help by the monkey. During the fight the nose of one of the three men is bitten off.
First Act:
Two girl dancers appear, representing the servants of the Rangda, looking for the severities of Dewi Kunti who are on the way to meet their Patih (Prime Minister in Bali Kingdom)
Second Act:
The servants of Dewi Kunti come. One of the servants of the Rangda changes into a witch enters both servants to make them angry. They meet their Patih and together go to Dewi Kunti.
Third Act:
Dewi Kunti and her son, Sadewa come up. Dewi Kunti promises the Rangda to sacrifice Sadewa. A witch appears and enters Dewi Kunti. She become angry and orders the Patih to bring Sadewa into the forest. The Patih is also entered by a witch so he does not have ritzy to Sadewa. Sadewa the taken into the forest and tied up on tree.
Fourth Act:
Unknown by Rangda, God of Siwa appears and gives Sadewa immortality. Then the Rangda appears ready to kill Sadewa and earn him up but he still alive. She then surrenders and ask him to redeem herself, Sadewa agrees and kills Rangda.
Fifth Act:
One of the servants of the Rangda called Kalika comes up before Sadewa and ask him to redeem himself too but Sadewa refuse. Kalika get angry and change herself into a boar and fights Sadewa. The boar can defeated than she change herself into a bird and can defeated again. At last he changes herself into a Rangda and Sadewa cannot kill her. In such circumstances Sadewa meditates and then he changes himself into Barong and the Rangda seems to be too powerful and the fight is un ended. Follower of the Barong appear and help him fight the Rangda.
